Here is a copy of the Seeing Ear newsletter.  Seeing Ear is a free online library for visually impaired readers.  For more information about Seeing Ear, click here to visit our Literacy Useful Links/Resources page.

Welcome to Seeing Ear’s latest newsletter! We email out a monthly newsletter of updates, news or general information we want to share with you all. If there is anything you would like to hear about that we’re not including, do let us know.

We have had a very busy 2016, adding a total of 1575 books to the Online Library! Thanks to funding for a new server from the Royal Bank of Scotland we have been able to automate more of the process of adding books to the library. We are still extremely grateful to the 10 office volunteers and 250 remote volunteers who help us to add books to the library. We have also joined the ABC (the Accessible Book Consortium) who have thousands of audio books which we will gradually be adding to our library. Our Lottery Funded School Librarian project, will end in March 2017. Next year will be a challenging but exciting year, searching for funding for our next project.
If you are after something festive to read this Christmas time why not download a book. Here are some suggestions:
1.      The Christmasaurus – a brand new children’s book, full of adventure and magic, plus a Christmas dinosaur. A great book for anyone!
2.      A Christmas Carol – a real Christmas classic.
3.      Christmas Days: 12 Stories and 12 Feasts for 12 Days – Everybody loves a Christmas story, so here are 12 short stories to read over the holidays.
We would like to say a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of our Library members!
Best wishes
The Seeing Ear Team
