Summer Reading Challenge

Samantha, S2 at Kincorth Academy, has been a volunteer to promote the Aberdeen City Libraries Summer Reading Challenge 2017.  Along with some other volunteers from her school and Mr Clark the school librarian, she has visited local primary schools to spread the word about the challenge and encourage younger children to take part.  As well as visiting different classes and talking about the reading challenge, she has also told them about her favourite books.

“I really enjoy reading manga books, because they actually have a story.  The next book in the series that I am reading has dragon slayers and characters with supernatural powers.  These books are more exciting than the other books that I have read.”

Samantha is hoping to encourage as many children as possible to take part in the reading challenge this summer and give manga books a try too.
